Thesis Statement
I will outline some of the ethical issues Monsanto Corporation has faced, I will focus on the predatory litigation of farmers that have been contaminated by Monsanto’s Genetically Modified seed and then sued for using that seed to plant subsequent crops. I will provide examples and citations of what I feel are unethical practices and cases involving Monsanto.
Introduction

Society in as a whole needs to start making an effort to support local farmers that are growing naturally diverse crops without GMO’s
Monsanto could employ leadership that is not motivated only by money and greed, but with a view of natural food crops that have sustained life on this planet for millions of years.

Evaluation of Alternatives
Alternative A - Farmers and seed companies have to stand up for the non-genetically modified organisms, and promote bio-diversity in our food crops.
Farmers usually fall under the enlightened egoist way of thinking; they plant and raise crops to feed people or animals, all the while trying to make enough money to support the farm.
Farmers that fall into the deontologist way of thinking are ones that will not plant GMO crops because they feel it just isn’t right and that companies like Monsanto should stop producing them no matter what the cost.
Alternative B - Society in as a whole needs to start making an effort to support local farmers that are growing naturally diverse crops without GMO’s
If society as a whole were to adopt a more deontologist view, there would be Freedom in the most pure form of the word.
I feel that society is mostly utilitarian and our government is using Democracy as it’s “greater good” and slowly the GMO conversation is bringing GMO’s into the no
