Introduction Telecommunications has greatly evolved over the last several years. From the hand cranked phones to the internet, telecommunications has always been a part of every business in one form or another. When the internet came along we started with slow dial up and now have fiber optics at speeds we never could have dreamed of at the time. In conjunction with CDMA2000 1X Advanced 4G LTE has come about recently to offer businesses and consumers the high speed communications over both voice and data that they require in their day to day lives.
Strategic Business Assessment Network Standards Incorporated provides broadband services and network solutions. The company is exploring opportunities to provide improved and cheaper broadband services. They require an investigation to see if upgrading their current telecommunications network from 3G to 4G is an option that makes sense both financially and as a service to their customers. The upgrade that is recommended is CDMA2000 1X Advanced.
Competition
When it comes to the availability of carriers in the wireless landscape the field is quite small. Network Standards Incorporated has been offered a great opportunity by winning the national lottery for the PCS spectrum. However, winning this lottery doesn’t guarantee success for the company as one of its competitors was also given a license and both are expected to provide cost effective service to the nation. There is also one other competitor that already has 800MHz TDMA that services all 16 cities within the nation. However, there are a lot of issues with very poor coverage with high charges as well as no wireless data services available. Due to the fact that there are two other competitors Network Standards will have to provide a better service at competitive prices to stay relevant. The wireless industry continues to grow each and every day and with the demand by consumers for greater access data wireless carriers like Network Standards can reap the benefits of an ever growing consumer market.
Technology
There are more and more applications for mobile devices that offer streaming services of music and video. These types of applications use up a lot of data. In a matter of few minutes a user can use up a few gigabytes of data. The need for data will continue to grow as these types of applications come out.
