Level 1—Initial
Level 2—Managed/ Repeatable
Level 3—Defined
Level 4—Quantitatively Managed
Level 5—Optimizing
The process v/s CMMI level table is as shown below: Level 1 | Level 2 | Level 3 | Level 4 | Level 5 | Few stable processes exist or are used. | Documented & stable estimating, planning, & commitment processes are at the project level. | Integrated management & engineering processes are used across the organization. | Processes are quantitatively understood & stabilized. | Processes are continuously & systematically improved. | “Just do it” | Problems are recognized and corrected as they occur | Problems are anticipated and prevented or their impacts are minimized. | Sources of individual problems are understood and eliminated. | Common sources of problems are understood and eliminated. |

There are 4 basic key points of a CMM model:
Key Process Area (KPA): These identifies a cluster of related activities that, when performed collectively, achieve a set of goals considered important.
Goals: The goals of a key process area summarize the states that must exist for that key process area to have been implemented in an effective and lasting way. The extent to which the goals have been accomplished is an indicator of how much capability the organization has established at that maturity level.
Common Features: These include practices that implement and institutionalize a key process area. These five types of common features include: Commitment to Perform, Ability to Perform, Activities Performed, Measurement and Analysis, and Verifying Implementation.
Key Practices – These describe the elements of infrastructure and practice that contribute most effectively to the implementation and institutionalization of the key process areas. 2. Company Background

epigraphy, and the calendar did not originate with the Maya; however, their civilization fully developed them. Maya influence can be detected in Honduras, Belize, Guatemala, and western El Salvador to as far away as central Mexico, more than 1,000 km (620 mi) from the central Maya area. The many outside influences found in Maya art and architecture are thought to have resulted from trade and cultural exchange rather than direct external conquest. The Maya peoples survived the Classic period collapse…
