The true reality about education in today’s era is how minorities are last privilege people when it comes to resource and opportunities. In Education wise, minorities are the group people who the government and district discard the most. There are only a few resources for which they can benefit form but yet there’s controversy on how minorities shouldn’t have the right to succeed in if they can’t afford education. There’s many resource out there like public school that are willing to have program for those student who need it. The affirmative action also supports the right for minorities to have more opportunities in education and be able to overcome all the obstacles. As result of this resources student will be able to contribute in the nation by having a high education. Just like the Affirmative action sated anyone so be able to achieve and education therefore minorities shouldn’t have limited resources opportunities. Public schools is one of the many limited resources available to minorities due to the struggles with academic and social challenges that are caused by the limited resources and tuition cost. No child left behind is afford within the public school system as an opportunity for districts to improve the academic performance of all the students including those who are poor, disabled, minorities and those who spoke English as a second language. In addition, districts could no longer get away with giving minorities unqualified or inexperienced teachers. Of course, there’s was going to be a catch to the resources appealed to minorities which was every student had to take a standardize test that determine whether the students are improving academically. If so the school would get fund and if not then no fund would go to the school. Funding’s should go to schools in need of improvement of academic support. Not to schools which already have good academics. St. Luis public school is an example of how far schools have to go. 6 percent of the school graduates are proficient in English; miserable 3 percent are percent in math. Unlike St. Luis School, many other school fail because not child left behind was an unfunded leading to no money for tutors, teachers and smaller classes. As a result of over the past 25, years state legislatures have cut funding for higher education, as a result, tuition at public universities has risen dramatically……In Missouri, state spending per student, in inflation –adjusted dollars, dropped 23 percent between 1979 and 2004. It seems as if education education is out of their reach all due to limited resources.
The Affirmative action is a secondary source for minorities. The whole meaning of the Affirmative action is so minorities could benefit from it by being able to pursue the American dream which is to be able to attend college after high school. But instead the Affirmative Action is causing an emotional appeal on students who soon realize this action only benefits students who are better prepared (higher class students). Both critics and advocates acknowledge how Minorities’ have a harder time getting admitted to college based on their academic preparation. 19 percent of black students who enroll full-time at Chicago state university graduate within six years. At California state university, Los Angeles, it’s 22 percent. The University of the District of Columbia matches Wayne State for futility, with an 8 percent graduation rate for black student. The major of the spots are taking by Asians who are the new white and whites. In other words, wealthy people. Adding on, Minority student are the main target for profit of colleges in getting sketchy degrees and inflated student loans since there not a lot of help out there from them. Meanwhile, the state government gives far more money per student to university then they do to community college where most minority get their education done. Minority would have a chance in getting in to college if there was only more resource and
