Who could that be Growing up with a passion for basketball, I could not find a player more that intrigued me more than Michael Jordan. The never give up attitude and determination to succeed motivated me to be the best in everything I attempted to do. By evaluating Michael Jordan’s work with various charities, statistics, and awards, I will show why he is the greatest player to ever come through the NBA on and off the court. Michael Jordan was not only an amazing athlete he was also a good humanitarian. He is involved with a variety of charities including the Boys' and Girls' Clubs of America, UNCF/College Fund, Special Olympics and a number of other charitable organizations that support children and families. For the past twelve years he has hosted a Celebrity Invitational golf tournament that raises over five hundred thousand dollars every year and has raised a total of six million dollars since it was founded. All this money goes towards the numerous mount organizations he works with. From the minute Jordan signed with his first professional team (Chicago Bulls) he started exceeding many people’s expectations. His statistics are another reason why he is known to be the best the NBA has ever seen. He averaged 30.1 points per game throughout his entire career. Since his first season Jordan not only led the league in points but also led his team to six NBA championships. From then on he has not only proved his consistency but also his longevity as he is still known by so many young fans of this sport. According to the bleacher report in his past seasons he has never averaged less than 23 points a game and has never missed more than three games.
