Saluswell is a healthcare technology company that provides an online network for registered dietitians to offer lifestyle care and health education to patients. Saluswell was founded by Mick Majid, BSc. Mick has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare, pharmaceutics and business. His team consists of Arthur E. Orlick, M.D., FACC, Dr. Salman Iqbal, PhD and Carol Donovan, Registered Dietitian. Saluswell’s mission is, “to transform health promotion, disease prevention and management care by providing easy access and superior care by eliminating barriers to healthcare delivery such as wait times, distance and travel” (Saluswell, 2013). Saluswell recognized a need for easier access to registered dietitians to treat unhealthy lifestyle. Unhealthy lifestyle is a risk factor for many chronic diseases that currently account for 70% of deaths in the United States. Saluswell works with physicians allowing them to refer patients to dietitians online or patients can make appointments directly with the dietitians to receive online counselling. Saluswell is based in Buffalo, NY and plans to launch initially in Western New York in November 2013 followed by the rest of New York State, California, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Florida and Texas with a goal of achieving market penetration of 3% of registered dietitians within five years.
We have conducted internal and external assessments for Saluswell including an analysis of its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats and trends. We have provided a strategic plan and future recommendations for Saluswell.
