1. How does the text book define a theory?
The text book defines a theory as a comprehensive, coherent, and internally consistent system of ideas about a set of phenomena. The text also states that theory is not an easy concept to define because everyone defines it differently. When reading other texts it is important to figure out how the author of that particular text defines theory. (Knowles, Holton, & Swanson, 2012)

2. How does the text book define learning?
The text book defines learning as the process of gaining knowledge and expertise. Learning is another concept that is nearly impossible to define. People from all learning theories define it in their own way to fit their particular theory. (Knowles, Holton, & Swanson, 2012)

3. What is the connection between theory and practice?
The connection between theory and practice is that once a person has decided that a certain theory is the correct one for them, they can then use it as a guideline to practice their teaching methods. Once they start teaching they can then start to point out how their particular theory must be the correct one based on the
