Medical assistants must renew their RMA certification every three years.

Becoming a Registered RMA you have to graduate from schooling and pass a certification exam as well (RMAs) must renew their certifications every three years they are awarded by (AMT) American Medical Technologist accredited by National Commission of Certifying Agencies. A CMA and RMA do similar work while RMA simply registers you for the same.

(NCCT) National Center of Competency Test –
“For most NCCT certifications there are two qualifying routes, allowing graduates of approved educational programs or individuals with qualifying work experience to apply. To earn an NCCT credential, candidates must meet all eligibility requirements and pass an examination based upon knowledge, skills, and abilities required at job entry. NCCT certification testing is designed to validate candidate competence, not only for the employers that hire them but for the public good while some certifying agencies might offer lifetime certification to applicants who pass a single exam, NCCT does not. Certificants are required to complete a minimum of 14 clock hours of approved continuing education annually to update their knowledge and maintain active status. Recertification is the final link in the chain of processes that brings credibility to our credentials”.
