This poster advertises an indie rock bands UK tour. I have made it landscape because the image I took was more wide than tall so it meant I have more working space around it where I could place the text and info about the tour. The layout of the advertisement poster is spread out and I separated it into little bits which are really easy to see and the writing is not crowded in so it’s easy to read because it’s white writing on a black background. I made the two little black boxes have sharp edges that stick out a lot so that it adds more of a rock look to it which helps the iconography of this poster, I made two because I made one for each month so that people can easily find out the dates and venues. Therefore people who are interested in rock will look at it and it will catch their eye.

The background of the poster is a galaxy image and since the genre of my band is indie rock I think it goes quite well because I know a lot of indie rock bands that use galaxy in their images.
The logo has more delicate colours like blue, purple and pink which gives a nice contrast to the poster and I think the font is relevant to the type of my band as its two types of fonts in one, one of them is really simple and the Daze is more edgy and adds more attitude to it making it look more rock.

The band name is "Fighting Daze" and the meaning behind it is quite simple, to wake people back into reality. 'Daze' is where a person can't think straight and is lost in their own thoughts and this band would sing songs about reality. Also fighting is usually associated with war and I think war is quite a common topic now.

At the bottom of the poster I put when the tickets are on sale because from my research that I've done all the already existing band tour ad posters had a date and time when the tickets are on sale, it’s because people need to know when they’ll be able to buy the tickets.

The font of the writing is simple and easy to read which is good because people should be able to tell where and when they can go
