What is meant by the term media convergence with regard to technology, and how has it affected everyday life? Media convergence means that the different kinds of media are becoming one. There are so many forms of media but it is all merging into one and it is all because of technology. Technology has changed the way live because we use technology for everything. Not many people get the newspaper delivered to their houses anymore. There are now apps on our smart phones for the online sites that have the information from the newspaper. The US Postal Service has really been hit hard by technology. E-mails, faxing, and scanning have almost made sending a letter or document via the postal service almost obsolete. Who would want to wait two or three days to receive something that can be e-mailed in minutes and there is no cost. Now everything is available for us online or through our smart phones. This makes things easier in a sense. It also helps us get information without going through so many different sources that would take much longer to access. We use technology so much more these days; everything is slowly but surely becoming electronic. Traditional media is still here but it is not as effective as it used to be. We use technology more than we can imagine and it has become so much more advanced than I ever imagined. I believe it will only continue to advance and blow our minds knows where things will be in another century. I do believe that if technology keeps advancing, paper letters, forms, printed newspapers, printed books or magazines will no longer be in circulation. It will fade out. In my opinion, this is already happening. For example who would buy a set of encyclopedia’s when you can google whatever information you need to know.

What is meant by the term media convergence with regard to business, and how has it affected everyday life?
What is meant by the term media convergence with regard to business, and how has it affected everyday life? In the past businesses had limited options in regards to how to market their product. The options were television commercials, radio commercials, newspaper advertisement, bill boards, ads in magazines and sometime flyers. All of these methods are still used but now with technology there are so many other ways to get a product out to the public. Facebook is a huge way to advertise. There are also other websites such as Twitter. If you can make your product popular on either of these two sites. You will probably become a millionaire. There are other sites such as YouTube and Blogger. Another way media convergence has changed everyday life in a business aspect is the speed of technology. Years ago I worked in a Law office. If there were important papers to be signed immediately, I have actually gotten in my car and drove to another Law office. The other attorney signed the papers. I would then go to the courthouse to have the paper filed. Now with the convenience of technology the signing of the paper could be done in minutes several different ways. Meetings have changed because of media convergence. Everyone used to have gather in one spot to have a conference or meeting. Now with video conference calling the people attending the meeting could be in another country and a meeting could still be held. Because of media convergence the way the public receives information about a product has changed from the past. The public now has many choices and avenues when choosing a product because technology gives us so many more options. For example I recently downloaded an app call Wish. All of the products are at least 70% off because they are shipped from China basically eliminating the middle man. Without technological
