Objective:
To be able to make a scale drawing of the classroom(top view of the room) without using conventional device.
Procedure:
Choose a item as the measurement scale(10.5in*8in wide ruled notebook)
Use the notebook to measure the length and width of all the object in the room.
Line up the bottom of the notebook at one of the edge of the object you want to measure.Put a mark beside the top of the notebook.
Move the notebook toward the other side of the object and stop when the bottom of the notebook reaches the mark you just made.(At this point, the distance that the notebook just passed through should be one unit)
Continue the last two steps until the top of the notebook reaches or pass the other side of the object. (If the notebook passed through the edge of the object, then you should make a estimate length by the notebook scale)
Count how many units has the notebook passed through, record the measurement.
Use the data to draw the top view of the room with a filler paper, count each unit as two grids(0.5cm)

You need to know the proper pieces of equipment to select and the appropriate procedures and units to use. Length Measurement Typically a metric ruler is used to determine the length of an object. To measure length, use either centimeter (cm)…

Title: Observations of Chemical Changes Purpose: To learn about the international system of units (SI), to become familiar with common lab equipment and techniques, to gain proficiency in determining volume, mass, length, and temperature of a variety of items using common laboratory measurement devices, to learn to combine units to determine density and concentration, and to use laboratory equipment to create serial dilutions and determine the density and concentration of each dilution. Procedure:…
Techniques Lab Lab Notebook • See pages 10-11 • Required Headings for each lab: o Title o Purpose (2-3 sentences briefly stating main concepts, reactions and techniques) o Theory (1-2 pages outlining relevant theory of concepts, reactions and techniques. Chemical structure, figures and schematic diagrams are highly recommended.) o Procedure (A point form version of experimental procedure. Tables for data collection are required.) o Chemical Hazards (Toxicological properties, preventative…
measured number? Pre-Lab Assignments: Before doing this lab you should have completed the following prelab tutorials or taken the corresponding fast-track quizzes demonstrating your proficiency. Measurements and Units Significant Figures Student Learning Outcomes: How to properly make and record measurements taken with both analog and digital measurement devices with the maximum precision. The rules for the use and importance of significant figures. How the choice of measurement device affects the…
CHM1032L pre/post lab instructions Preparation is a key to success in this lab. For this reason, you are required to thoroughly read through the experiment information presented in the lab manual, and complete a pre-lab for each experiment you do. The prelab must be completed prior to the day of the experiment. Each Friday I will ask to see your completed prelab before I allow you to enter the lab. If you have not finished the pre-lab, I will not allow you to enter the lab and you will receive…
05/14/2013 7.1 Lab Report- Caloric Content of Food TITLE: LAB 7.1 CALORIC CONTENT OF FOOD PURPOSE: In this lab we will have the opportunity to measure the energy in a variety of foods, by heating/burning a portion of the food item and catching the heat released into a known mass of water in a calorimeter. We will also identify units of measuring heat such as calories and joules. We will use basic lab equipment provided in our labpaq and we will use several household items as well. We…
Measurement and Experimental Error Experiment #1 Tyler Brown E01237083 Partner: Cameron Talbot PHY 223 Lab Instructor: Ms. Shomsky Tuesday, 9:00 AM-10:50 AM Lecture Instructor: Dr. Behringer Abstract In this lab we took measurements using a ruler and Vernier calipers. We used these to obtain the density of our block, keeping the correct number of significant figures throughout. Two ways of measurement gave us different uncertainties, which we had to use to calculate our answer. We also took…
