I wish to study palaeontology at university as I have a firm interest of the origin of life on Earth and how it has evolved over millions of years. For as long as I can remember I have loved dinosaurs and prehistoric life and some of my fondest memories as a child are of watching “Walking with Dinosaurs” on the television and regularly visiting the Natural History Museum, and then trying to find fossils in my garden (I was never successful). I currently study Biology at school giving me an extensive understanding of evolution and how changes in circumstances can result in adaptations necessary for the survival of species. History helps to give me a perspective of time periods and helps me to sift out useful information from large quantities of text, it also gives me an understanding of human existence and how we have culturally changed from the medieval era. Spanish, despite not directly linking to palaeontology can assist in communicating and understanding many different people I encounter. I currently play football for Wadham FC, which has provided me with the skills necessary for understanding how to work as part of a team as well as providing me with the physical fitness and endurance to work on paleontological digs in many environments. As well as this I am also a black belt at Seiken Karate Kai, this accolade exemplifies my dedication as I have spent six hours every week for the past six years practicing karate, it also requires an immense amount of discipline and mental ability
