Morales, M
M/W 1:15pm I have to agree with the social scholar about this generation being too self-centered. I believe the reasons for kids now a days caring only about themselves is because they are looking out for number one (yourself) or they want the attention to be focused on them so they can be recognized/acknowledged. I bet there are many issues about this topic. One issue could be that having problems would be a daily basis in their house and in their social life.
This generation isn’t any different from the past there’s just more self-centered kids. I’ve never met a self-centered person before, so I would guess a reasonable motive for being self-centered is that the child doesn’t get enough attention at home or has no friends. If no one at home gives the time of day to a person or has no one to talk to he/she will talk to him/herself. Therefore not being recognized when you have a family, self-centered is created because they are basically alone. Not having friends is like peanut butter without jelly, everyone needs at least one friend to make it through life. When your alone and want to make friends you would talk about yourself so they can know you. Being used to talking about yourself you wouldn’t notice it until someone points it out and that can be harsh in some extend.
I can’t imagine the problems that family has to deal with because their kid is egoistic. It could set a bad mood at the dinner table or start fights with siblings because they can’t stand
