Machiavelli- Change Agent

In reading Niccollo Machiavelli’s The Prince Machiavelli is looking to seek favor of the new regime and hopes to earn a place within. Machiavelli is also seeking to be a part of, create and sustain major change in the current political state of Italy. Perhaps one of the most revolutionary aspects about The Prince, was the way that it discussed and encouraged a separation between being ethical and being political. This was of course different from classical politics which linked the law to a higher code of moral, the opposite of what Macchiavelli was suggesting in The Prince.
Machiavelli wrote The Prince as advice to the new regime. Advice that he thought the new prince would be pleased to recieve. Niccolo Machiavelli wrote “The Prince” as practical and what he considered to be essential advice on a new prince to be able to establish and maintain power. Niccolo Machiavellu sought to be instrumental and was innovative in his approach and way of thinking about change.
Although Niccolo Machiavellis The Prince was not received with open arms or even published until after his death, we can see how Machiavelli eventually gets the respect that he sought after. Machiavelli was able to bring about a change in the way that leaders thought about gaining and maintaining their leadership and power.
