Through-out history, similarities have been found between historical figures and fictional characters. The character “Macbeth” created by William Shakespeare for the play “Macbeth. One of the most easily explainable examples of this would be with previous soviet ruler, Joseph Stalin. Stalin got to power by creating a platform of trust while being the General Secretary. He was extremely close to Lenin and his supporters. As Macbeth was to King Duncan, loyalty and trust to the previous head of power, he eliminated the threats to his power. Killing members of government and his friends became a past time for the man of the hour. Anyone dared to defy his ideals were "taken care of". After the 1917 revolution, Vladimir Lenin was the head of the Bolshevik political faction and the Russian nation. His performance was recognized but he was expelled in 1899 after missing his final exams. After leaving the seminary, Stalin discovered the writings of Vladimir Lenin (a Marxist leader who served as the key architect of the October Revolution, and the first leader of the Soviet Russia) and chose to become a Marxist revolutionary, ultimately joining Lenin's Bolsheviks in 1903. He became one of the Bolsheviks' chief operatives in the Caucasus, organizing a "military," enforcing strikes and protests, spreading propaganda and raising money through bank robberies, ransom kidnappings and extortion. He earned a bad reputation from being associated with organizing the 1907 Tiflis bank robbery, resulting in several deaths and the stealing of $3.4 million, which troubled him politically for years later.
