Chiang Kai-Shek Chiang Kai-Shek (also known as Jiang Jieshi) was the military and political leader of the Nation People Party.

Kai- Shek was born October 1887 in Zhejiang, which is the eastern province in China. His father was a merchant. When he was only eighteen, he went into a military training college in Japan. He returned in 1911 to take part of an uprising that overthrew the Qing Dynasty and the uprising established a Chinese Republic. The new republic was anti-communism, conservatism and had three principles of the people. Chiang joined The Chinese Nationalist Party formed by Doctor Sun Yat-sen and he was appointed commandant of the Whampa Military Academy in Lanton in 1924.

In 1925, Sun Yat-sen died so Kai-Shek became the leader of the KMT. KMT is short for Kuomintang which is the Nation People’s Party. He supervised China’s next project which was Northern Expedition. This expedition reunited China under the National Party in Nanjing. In 1928, he also led the suppression of the Communist Party. He also over saw the program for the reformation of china but the government wanted to focus on internal problems. Chiang had to make sure the Japanese invasion of Manchuria was under control.

Unfortunately in 1937, Japan made a huge invasion of China. They battled for four long years without any help from an outside force. When the United States declared war in 1941 against Japan and China became their allies. There was a huge meeting with all the powers from Britain and the United States that talked with Chiang and his wife. After World War II, there was a huge civil war against the KMT and the communists. The communists were crazy and they established the People’s Republic of China. Chiang fled to Taiwan and was president there until he then pasted away in April, 1975.

Chiang Kai-shek army never used the atomic bomb for any reason but they believed, with also Russia, Central and Eastern Europe, and Berlin, we did not have enough atomic bombs confront the enemy. The U.S. could have used the bomb in China during Kai-shek’s versus Mao Zedong civil war but they didn’t. China didn’t use nuclear warfare like some other countries did.
