Success can take many different definitions, people have different interpretations of what success really means. For me it’s as simple as living well and laughing often. The idea of living well is a very broad statement though. Living well, in my opinion, is getting success in personal, social and professional life. If I can achieve those three levels of success, I believe that I have lived well and gave life a “good go”. Personal success for me is being able enjoy little things that life has to offer. For instance, understanding and appreciating diversity and examining the way people think around the globe, although I don’t always agree with their thinking, it interests me to no extent. To have someone to love and treasure, to meet the right person, fall in love, and get married is another factor to determine my definition of success. Having that feeling, knowing someone else loves me, is something that makes me feel completely happy and successful. Because I believe that without love, life is not thoroughly complete, and without it, one cannot achieve success. Social success has a lot to do with the natural tendencies that I as human possess. For instance, I have identified good friends that I can count on as well as they can count on me. So having reliable friends is another big factor is determining success. I know that if I need help on anything, there will always be a helping hand. A part of societal success is also to learn how to treat people well, and I have been lucky enough to have such a great family that has showed me how to treat people since I was a little kid. I consider that I have reached professional success when I’m able to finish any goals that I have set in my mind. It doesn’t necessarily means that I need to have a masters or a doctorate on my career. If my goal this year, is to graduate and I’m capable of doing it just the way I set it in my mind, then I have reached professional success, even if at the time it’s just graduating high school.
