Members of faith communities often provide a sense of belonging to one another. In addition, they accept that they have responsibilities toward each other, their faith and themselves; you see the belovedness of other people in community and can call that beauty forth in ministry. A faith community is posed to a safe, caring environment where members or other persons served by the congregation can share their concerns. It's an incredible mystery of God's love that the more you know you are loved, the more you will see how deeply your sisters and your brothers in the human family are loved. The more you love others without conditions, the more you can love yourself the way God loves you and others. And the more you are loved by others, the more you realize how much you are the beloved of God. Finding your way home is learning how all love is connected, expressed, and lived out in community.
"Beloved, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love" (1 John 4:7-8). [109-125]
Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles.... He went down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of his disciples was there and a great number of people from all over ... who had come to hear him and to be healed of their
embracing what you want instead of what God wants. If you break the word down the first part “apo” means from and “stasy” means truth. This is clearly something God wanted us to know about, and to stay clear of it because he put many examples of it in the Bible. Jonah, when God told him to go to Nineveh decided that he was going flee as far away as he could go to Tarshish. God got angry, and had Jonah swallowed by a large fish. A couple days later God allowed him to be spit-up by the fish because…
Academy. To all my sisters of the academy: With gratitude from your sister and love from God. Thanksgiving: First, I would like to thank God for giving me the opportunity to meet all of you, because your joy and loyalty has given me a non-forgettable experience. In all my prayers for my sisters, I always pray with hope and love, because I hope everyone has as good of an experience as I had, and I pray with love because I hope that all of my sisters are well taken care of by the Lord. I long…
The way the author characterizes the main characters in Zora Neale Hurston‘s Their Eyes Were Watching God and Tim O'Brien's The Things They Carried shows how people in any situation find friendship and love. Many of the characters in Their Eyes Were Watching God are defined by their thoughts and opinions on women, especially Janie’s three husbands. Logan and Jody don’t consider women to be thinking or feeling humans, and both of these men think they have the right to hurt a woman who they think is…
What is Love? An Examination on Love In Canto 26 of Paradiso, blind Dante is confronted by St. John about love. Dante tells St. John that he wants God’s love. John asks Dante to be more specific in why he wants God’s love. Dante’s desire is significant because everyone desires to love and be loved, but what is love is the question. When Dante answers the question, his blindness is stripped away and he is able to see more clearly. The stripping of the blindness indicates that Dante knows what the…
praying in the Holy Ghost, 21Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. 24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power…
101 5 March 2014 Legalism in the Church In today’s society, Legalism is a major issue within the church. Legalism is the idea that good works and keeping God’s commandments will help you enter into the Kingdom of God. Yes, it is good to keep God’s laws, and yes, Jesus spoke, “If you love me, then you will keep my commandments” (English Standard Version, John 14.15), but He did not say that keeping these commands would help you achieve salvation. Legalism is not only a false doctrine, but it rips and…
story of how God was preparing the Israelites to enter the Promised Land. God provided all of their needs, food, clothing and instructions on how to accomplish this task. Instead of listening to God’s instructions the people began to crumpled, complained which allow sin to over took them. God was not pleased therefore, he adding an additional 40 years to the journey that would have only taken weeks to travel. God used Moses as the vessel who patiently guided a rebellious people. God punished some…
is dear to the gods, and impiety is that which is not dear to them” (Jowett, Kolak 6). After more interrogation by Socrates, Euthyphro is reminded that the Gods disagree on many issues and what is dear to one god may not be dear to another. “Then the same things are hated by the gods and loved by the gods, and are both hateful and dear to them?” (Jowett, Kolak 7). It’s apparent to Euthyphro and Socrates that the definition cannot hold if same things can be dear and hated by the Gods. Euthyphro amends…

certainties. The existence of God is forever. There is no beginning and no end. One of God's attributes is love. He has loved his creations from the day that he formed man out of dust.
