CLN4U – Heritage
The Origin of Law
(or the primitive you) I am unsure of what day or year it is; but I can tell you, today is the day when the
Earth is youthful and vibrant. I go wherever food is abundant. Recently, I’ve have moved in this green forest, by the river side. I temporarily built a nipa hut. It is a stilt house with a ceiling made of dried leaves and walls made of bamboos. I usually hunt for boars, sheep and lambs before the dawn and fishes at night. To tell you, fishes easier to catch when the moon is big and bright. And when meat fails to gratify, sweet fruits and nuts are readily available from the trees that grow in this place. I live simply, yet happy.
You might thing I wonder this beautiful land alone, I don’t. I am with people who live the way I do. Walks on bear feet every day and move from places to places. They built their own nipa hut too, wherein they keep their women and children safe. My parents were from this group of people too. I grew up with them. Though we are few in numbers, we are happy. We know everyone very well. I hunt with them and plant root crops with them. We play music and pray to our gods together. We are like a big extended family.
You might deduce that all is happy and well, but we fight too. And when we do, it is our elders who reprimand us. The way we live have caused to bring about rules and punishments. When we move from one place to another, we usually follow the elder’s
advice.
