Characters Colide in the Lord of the Flies Everyone is different and everyone possesses unique characteristics and beliefs. In the story ‘Lord of the Flies’ It shows how different beliefs can sometimes be problematic in a democratic community. Jack and Ralph are the main characters of this story, and they both display a plethora of different characteristics along with beliefs. Ralph and Jack are the two characters that I have chosen because they each possess similar attributes as in the ability to lead but also are very different as in how they want things done. The reason contrasting these two individuals is very interesting is because it shows how two leaders can be so similar but so different at the same time.
Ralph is a much more Conservative leader than Jack by showing he likes things done in an orderly fashion and makes decisions with the common good in mind. He displays attributes of a leader that can maintain civilization even in the midst of a crisis. Jack on the other hand is the complete opposite.
