LLysfasi College building Specification for dry cow and calf building/ or Verandas
There are two variation required for tender. Option A is a dry cow and calf building which also includes student and feed rooms.
Option B: Dry cow building including the feed and student rooms, (concrete pad for the verandas and igloos instead of calf building).
Please quote for option A and option B separately.
Option A:
1: Site clearance‐ see drawing A
Excavation of the site, it has been estimated that there is 3600m3 of soil needed to be cleared to prepare the site for the building(s). There is an existing area of concrete to the north east of the existing cubicle building which has a fall of 2.04m over approximately 80m (a fall of 2.5%). A similar fall will be required for the new site. The site needs to be cleared suitably ready for construction. All soil should be moved to another location near to the site. Supply and erect farm building include footings as described below.
Dry cow building: 24m long (4x 6m bays) x 24.38m wide internally with a 2.133m (7ft) overhang on either side of the building. From the lowest point of the overhang to the ground level a minimum distance of 3.656m (12ft) is required. This should be at the lowest point as the ground level falls at
2.5%. All gutters should be galvanized. All portal frame steel work to be galvanised. All steel stanchions should be CE marked and meet any relevant building standards. Steel purlins.
Calf Building – see drawing C
Supply and erect farm building include footings as described below.
Calf building: 24m long (4x 6m bays) x 15m wide internally with a 1.250m overhang on each side of the building. From the lowest point of the overhang to the ground level a minimum distance of 3m is required. This should be at the lowest point as the ground falls at 2.5%. All gutters should be galvanized. All portal frame steel work to be galvanised. All steel stanchions should be CE marked and meet any relevant building standards. Steel purlins
