Dear Senator Mrs.Brownleyv
Every year, there are about one million immigrants go across the border wall between Mexico and the United States. The reason why the wall was built is to stop the illegal immigration from Mexico.
In 2007, there were 56% of United States citizens approved building a wall between the United
States and Mexico. Some experts said that the wall can’t stop those people who are trying to get into the United States and it has increased the amount of the illegal immigrants.
To finish the construction of the wall between the United States and Mexico, it will cost a lot of money. According to resources that I had found, it will cost more than 22.4 billion to build a fence along the entire southwestern border, which runs along riverbanks and through remote deserts, marshlands, and hill country. Also, the government need to expropriate private land, which would be both expensive and unpopular. Its cost is huge, but it will not cost as much as the damage that illegal immigration will bring to the development of United States. Many shops and factories employ illegal immigrants rather than local Americans, because they can pay lower wages.
