Let’s Get in Shape Why are over two-thirds of the adults in the country obese? The rate of obesity in the country has increased over 10 percent in the last decade. This has caused the rate of child obesity to increase also. There are many factors that have caused this to happen. The cost of healthy food has increased; meanwhile the amount of unhealthy items on the dollar menu has also increased. Technology has also played a big factor in the drop of the amount of time that people spend doing outdoor activities. The crash in the economy has also made people make some sacrifices, which include living a healthy lifestyle. This has led to people having obesity-related conditions, which include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer. This can be easily changed by increasing exercise level and making better food decisions. “In 2008, medical costs associated with obesity were estimated at $147 billion” [Health Affairs 28, no. 5 (2009): w822–w831]. All of these costs would not be needed if people were healthy. Exercise is always needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle. There are many benefits that come with exercise; reduces the risk of dying prematurely, reduces the risk of dying prematurely from heart disease, reduces the risk of developing diabetes, reduces the risk of developing high blood pressure, helps reduce blood pressure in people who already have high blood pressure, reduces the
water? Water has no shape, it takes the shape of its container. Imagine a water bottle. The water inside the bottle takes the shape of the bottle. When the bottle is shaken, what happens? The water does not hold its shape, it goes everywhere. Now, pretend you put the water bottle on the floor and let the water settle. What happens? The water again takes the form of the bottle. This argument of water can be seen like so: When water is contained, it has a form and when water is let loose, it has no form…
The two shapes I have decided to investigate are the cylinder and the Tetrahedron Cylinders diameter is 3cm , height is 10cm each of the two ends are going to be plastic . so we need to find the length of the of the cylinder when opened out to its net form we know the height is 10cm . We can do this by working out the circumference which is 3cm x pi (3.14) = 9.42cm We can discard the ends because these are going to be plastic which gives us a shape of…
experiences can shape an individual into someone who they would be for the rest of their lives. Jeannette Walls and Amy Tan overcome the negative things that happened in their lives, while the kids in “Choosin Cholita” and “Vanity Fair” seem to be more focused on all of the wrong things. Jeannette Walls and Amy Tan show how negative childhood experiences shaped them into a better individual, but we see through April Miller and Alexis Neirs how negative childhood experiences can shape a person for the…
great importance of exercise. There are so many ways that exercise contributes to everyday life. The right amount of exercise can prevent disease, obesity, and even death. The reasons why exercising is essential to life is that it can prevent disease, obesity and death. People who exercise can…
Purpose is important because the purpose of the essay would be the aim of the essay or the plan of the essay. You have to get your readers to understand what you are writing about. The purpose of an essay can inform your reader of something or an argument about something like, “Does access to condoms prevent teen pregnancy?” If you can’t get your purpose across to your readers, they will not understand the essay. Purpose is so important. If you don't meet your purpose, nothing else…
form, structure and shape meaning. Form = Drama for an Inspector Calls. Work out what the writer is trying to communicate with us based on his thoughts and ideas towards the subject in matter. In Greek Draen means to do. Similar to drama. Set in 1912 but written in 1945. Shelia says “that what you say”- ironic because Gerald hasn’t been near her “last summer” showing that Shelia doesn’t really believe him. Mrs Birling generation shows that if you marry a business you have to get use to the fact…
surface. Sprinkle some flour on top of the dough also because it’s still greasy from olive oil. Now use your fingers to press it gently down into a flat shape, to finally make it look more and more like the pizza crust you want. You can use the rolling pin if you want, but most people just use two hands to stretch it outwards into a thin shape. Just be careful not to overstretch, you don’t need holes in the crust. Help yourself with more flour if the dough is not sliding over the surface. When…
and musty smell upset Jane more than anything. She loved everything about the room, except for the wallpaper. “There are things in that paper which nobody knows but me, or ever will. Behind that outside pattern the dim shapes get clearer every day. It is always the same shape, only very numerous. And it is like a woman stooping down and creeping about behind that pattern. I don’t like it a bit. I wonder—I begin to think—I wish John would take me away from here!” (insert citation). Within the rips and tears…
the minds of most, redistributing the wealth is an excellent idea, and a easy way to level the economy so everyone has enough money to spend resulting in people buying things, allowing the economy’s poor status to rise a bit, perfect, right? However, let me attempt to break it down to really see what could produce for our nation in the months and quite possibly the years to come, be it problems or possible success. The President is proposing a substantial amount of money in spending in upcoming…
nothing e. Keep in your mind the word “sweet” because it is repeated through the poem -------------------------- :4th stanza And hark! How blithe the throstle sings! He, too, is no mean preacher: Come forth into the light of things, Let the nature be your teacher. a. Pay attention to what I say. How beautifully and brightly it sings, and you’ll find something about the divine nature of the universe, and in the song you’ll find something religious. The bird will preach you and give…
