Lesson One – The Bible is the Word of God
Prayer
2 Timothy 3:16
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”

I believe for each scripture we read, throughout this whole series, that it is vital to break each verse down and really understand what it is being said. So in saying that, if we look at the beginning of the scripture we just read, “given by inspiration of God” translated from Greek means God’s breath, describing the intimacy of His word. That means, that every single word from the Bible is spoken by God to man.
If we look at John 1:1 this truth is revealed to us even further. “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.”
If we look to the second part of Timothy, the verse it speaks of four things that the Word is profitable for.
The first of which is doctrine which is teaching. Reproof which is conviction, correction which refers to setting something straight and instruction refers to the process of training. As you can see the Word is so vital in our Christian walks. Look what knowledge and depth we got from one verse and we have access to the whole Bible.
So looking at the Bible we can find the answers to some really important questions that some people can spend a life time searching for.
Questions like: * Where did I come from?
I know this sounds really simplistic but when I actually went looking for answer, I came up with some really cool things. Looking at Genesis 1:26-27
“Then God said let US (The Father, The son, The Holy Spirit) make man in OUR image. So God created man in his own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” * Why am I here?
We are made to reflect His majesty on earth, to have dominion, rule as God’s people wisely and prudently. Then I looked up purpose in my concordance to see if I could find out the reason why we are here, the thing that really jumped out at me was that we are here to glorify God. John 15:5-8 Jesus says:
“5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will[a]ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.”
We are here to glorify God and in order to do that; you need to have a relationship with Him. It is important for us to understand this before you can realise what God wants you to do in your life.
The next big question that is asked is; where will I go?
This question really has a few interpretations, as it could refer to what happens after the death of your flesh or, it could be now that I abide in Christ where is it that He wants me to go?
To answer what happens to your Spirit after the death of the flesh; we all know as Christian that we are going to heaven. That’s why it is so important as Christian’s, who know where we’re going, to align ourselves with God’s highest purpose which is saving the lost and dying amongst us.
And then to answer the other possible question of where Jesus wants me to go, I believe that Proverbs 3:5-6 is an answer..
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct[a] your paths.”
We all know that if we confess with our mouth, that Jesus is Lord, Salvation is ours. But still, as long as we are constantly looking to God we need not worry about where we will go as He will guide us.
Those who follow Jesus’ teachings do many miraculous works just as He said they would.
John 14:12-14:
12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also;
