When in Venice he became the Naval architect building many defensive systems. However in 1500 he returned to Florence where little is known about what he did. In 1502 he entered the services of Cesare Borgia, the son of the Pope. He travelled around with him creating maps and defensive plans for the next two years until once again he returned to Florence. While in Florence he worked on several pieces for the Signoria and was on some committees however once again he was back to Milan.
