My name is Michael Hooper, I’m also known by my nickname as Mikey. I was born on the island of Molokai and recently moved to Maui the summer before my freshman year, 2011. I moved to Maui to seek educational and baseball opportunities. Although leaving my family, friends and outdoor activities was challenging, I understand the reasons my parents made the decision to move. They wanted to give me the best opportunities to help me reach my career and athletic goals. My goal is to earn a BA in Environmental Studies by using my educational achievements and baseball experiences.

I’ve been researching colleges that have programs that focus on Environmental Studies and/or related fields and a baseball team. I know ___offers both. I am currently a shortstop and pitcher for my high school team. I am 6’0” tall and 175 lbs. I clocked my 60-yard dash in 6.75 seconds. My fastball is clocked at 87 mph. I’ve included the link to my college recruiting video down below. I love playing baseball. I’ve been playing baseball since I was 6 years old. I started playing travel baseball at 8 years old and I continue to play. I traveled to New York, Las Vegas and throughout the State of Hawaii to play baseball.

I’ve reasearched and found that___ I know through all this success as a college coach it will definitely help me to become a better ball player and I will definitely help your team in the later future. If you are interested in meeting me or seeing more of my skills, this summer I will be attending two showcases; August 9-10 at Under Armor Top 96 Show Case Camp and October 9-12 Arizona Fall Classic representing Team Hawaii. My cumulative GPA is 3.5 and SAT score is 1380. I will be retaking the SAT on November 8th, my goal is to score a 1700 or higher. I want to earn my degree in Environmental Studies and study the basic principles of ecology and environmental science. I have great concern and passion for the protection and preservation of the environment and natural resources.
