PRO RESOLUTION

William Shakespeare once said, “Life every man holds dear; but the dear man holds honor far more precious than life.” I agree with him, therefore I affirm the resolution which states that it’s morally permissible to kill one innocent person to save the lives of more innocent people. First, to define some words from the resolution. Morally means with respect to moral principles. Permissible means what is permitted or allowed. Innocent means not guilty of a crime or offense or not responsible for or directly involved in an event, yet suffering its consequences. My value for this round will be honor which is important because to save someone’s life is an honorable act but to do it at the cost of your own is even more so. This value relates to the resolution because a man who respects his honor over his life and honors others’ lives above his, will be honored above the others. My criterion will be Altruism. This criterion is important because the basic principle of altruism is that man has no right to exist for his own sake. This criterion is important because it reaffirms the belief that one man’s live should be lived for others and possibly dies for others. this criterion achieves my value premise because when someone does the good of being killed they don’t expect anything in return, but they are killed for the benefit of others. My first contention is that is personally honorable for one to die or save others. In other words the person that’s dying will die with dignity. A person who knows they are dying for others and that they will honor them for it will accept the fact and not think of their death as a terrible thing because it’s prolonging the lives of others. We know this is true because we’ve seen is historically. Whether you’re religious or not, you can’t deny the existence of Jesus. Christians believe his death, the death of the most innocent man to ever live, was to save theirs. There are thousands of documentations of this in scripts other than the Bible. To say he is honored today is an understatement. As Christianity spread throughout the Western World, so did Jesus’ values, and the value of a death to save others. The impact of that is that the values of Christianity shaped the Western World and your life today either directly or indirectly whether you like it or not. You can deny if he was truly “the son of God” or had any supernatural
