This year I was transitioning through moving from Philadelphia to Youngstown that way I would save money and start living on my own and not going back and forth to Philadelphia. During that time I had to find an apartment and a stable job to pay the bills while also being a full time student. I just became overwhelmed and stressed. I don’t own a car, so sometimes I would have to miss class because I don’t have a proper way to get to school. While also dealing with family situations back at home. My mother became ill with a brain aneurysm forgetting a lot. My father being 69 made it hard for him to take care of my nieces, so I had to keep running back and forth to Youngstown and Philadelphia to make sure everything was okay. My grades started slipping and before you know it, I could not pass any classes because my focus was on making sure I was settled in and learning how to grow up and live on my own.
This year, I have developed some study-skills and learned how to manage my time and money to where that is not a factor. I decided to always take early classes because that will help me to stay on campus and go to all my classes. Also I decided to take classes that I would enjoy more and it keeps me focused because it is something I am interested in. I would not mind the help services that are given as help such as CSP and other tutoring services. I made sure I cut back my hours at work that way I have more time to study at home as well.
