During this lab, the group that prepared flask C had to
1) Label a 125mL Erlenmeyer flask as C. Make sure the stopper is secure on this flask and remove. 2) Weigh 1.0g of dry yeast and 2.5g of sugar.
3)Add the yeast, sugar, and 20 mg of silver powder to flask C.
4) Take the tube that is connected to the stopper and make a manometer by taping the tube to the
Manila folder.
5) Fill the manometer about half full of colored tap water until the level of both sides are the same. 6) Add 50ml of 50 degrees water to flask C, whirl it for 10 seconds, wait for 30 seconds, then firmly plug the flask onto the stopper and tubing.
7) Use a pen or pencil, mark the initial water height in the manometer on the Manila folder and on the data table. Wait for 12 minutes until the water starts to move and then to collect the data, keep making marks for every 10 seconds.
8) Collect the contents of the flask, place it in the waste container, and rinse flask. In addition, the group that prepared flask D had to
1) Label the 125 mL Erlenmeyer flask as D. Make sure the stopper is secure on this flask and remove. 2) Add 25 mL of warm D.I (tap) water and 25 mL of stock silver nitrate solution to flask D and warm it up to 50 degrees Celsius.

3) Weigh 1.0g of dry yeast and 2.5g of sugar. Put these constants on a dry piece of paper.
4) Take the tubing that is connected to the stopper and make a manometer by taping it to the
Manila folder.
5) Add yeast and sugar to flask D and twirl it for 10 seconds. Firmly, plug the flask onto the stopper and tubing.
