Everything in this world needs a balance, especially our ecosystem. That is actually something very important, and because of that we have Keystone Species. What a Keystone Species does in an ecosystem is it keeps everything flowing and harmonized. Sometimes it is a plant, most of the time it is an animal. They are a crucial role in the ecosystem. If a Keystone Specie is taken out the ecosystem more likely than not it will fall apart. There are so many different kinds of keystone species all over the world. One of them would be the Honey bees. Even though bees are tiny they are very important. Honey bees go from plant to plant collecting nectar, by doing this they carry along pollen with them which actually spreads across and creates new plants. Now if there were no Honey bees, some plants would probably not be pollinated. Plant species would decrease with time and animals or insects would not have food to eat, or other animals or insects would not have homes. Another unlikely Keystone Specie is the Sea Star. They are very important in the tide pools. They are responsible for eating mussels and keeping their numbers down. Mussels don’t have other predators so if there were no Sea stars the mussels would become overpopulated. If this would happen then they would over crowd other species. Lastly, another Keystone specie would be a Jaguar. They are predators and are responsible for keeping numbers down for other species. Without them may species would become
