Night at the Museum We went to watch the Heidelberg University Concert Choir and Chamber Singers perform Night at the Museum at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. I found out about the concert through Facebook. I went on the alternative spring break trip to Biloxi, Mississippi and some of the people performing were in the program and they invited me to watch. The Facebook description was…
“Stroll with the choir through a sonic art gallery where the music is related to the themes and creation, the Nativity and Christmas, and human relationships. Featured composers and arrangers include Helvey, Wilberg, Chilcott, Conte, Whitacre, Childs and others.” It sounded interesting to go to. When we got to the church there were a lot of people already there and seated. The first thing I noticed was the huge cross at the front. The stained glass was amazing. On the ceiling were more murals. I thought the church was awesome. The choir came in and on the screen were paintings. They were putting words to the paintings. A few of my favorite parts of the concert were the Evocations of Nature, the song was The Heavens Are Telling by Franz Joseph Haydn. There were three soloists the program said, but they all sang together in a trio. The song reminded me of a song that I would sing in church because it was out of Psalm. Another song I liked was The King of Love My Shepherd Is, It said it was an Irish Tune by Mack Wilberg. I didn’t think it sounded like a song that would come out of
