Halloween and Its Traditions Halloween is a popular holiday where people are terrified by the dead and various monsters. Every Halloween, people celebrate their traditions; the traditions vary from place to place. In South Carolina, people go Trick or Treating to get candy. It is an exciting event! The three most common traditions for Halloween are picking and wearing costumes, giving candy, and carving Jack o’ Lanterns. Wearing and picking costumes is the most common and greatly celebrated tradition in South Carolina. Every Halloween people dress up in costumes to go Trick or Treating, it is an important part of Trick or Treating. Picking the costume is just as important, people want to wear scary and well-made costumes. People can also make a costume if they do not want to waste money to buy a costume, but making costume requires skill.
