John Calvin was born on July 10, 1509 in the city of Noyon the Picardy region of France. He was born under the names John cauvim. He was the first of four sons who survived infancy. Calvin was very well authoritative in French theologian and pastor when the Protestant Reformation was going on. In the development of Christian theology Calvin was a great role mole. His development was later concerned Calvinism. John was trained as a humanist lawyer; he broke from the Roman Catholic Church around 1530. There were a lot of religious tensions in France, which provoked a lot of violent against Protestants. Calvin went to Basel, Switzerland to practice more of his religion. In 1536 Calvin first edition of his seminal work Institutes of the Christian Religion was then published. A guys by the names of William Farel asked john Calvin to come and help redirected the church in Geneva. The city council was very unhappy about both of these ideas. Both men where force out of leadership at the time. Martin Bucer invited john Calvin to Strasbourg, he became a minister of the church and refugees in French. When the city of Geneva had the reform movement Calvin was very supportive. He was requested to return back to become the leader of the church. After his return, Calvin had new forms for church government and also leaders, despite the affected of having several very powerful family’s in the city. Michael Servetus, a Spaniard known for his heretical views, and the first European to describe the function of pulmonary circulation, arrived in Geneva. He was denounced by Calvin and executed by the city council.
Following an influx of supportive refugees and new elections to the city council, Calvin's opponents were forced out. Calvin spent his final years promoting the Reformation both in
