Jamaica is a small island that has a lot of interesting

mountains, caves, people and the beautiful beaches. Jamaica has various music legends for instance Bob Marley, Peter Touch, and Sean Paul just to name a few. We also have a variety of traditional Jamaican national dishes such as ackee prepared with salt fish. Ackee is grown locally. Another exquisite dish prepared among the natives would be curry chicken served along rice and peas with ripened plantains. The taste of the curry adds a burst of flavor to the chicken. Curry chicken served over rice and pea was customary for our Sunday dinners. The people of Jamaica have a rich culture because of their influence of the Britanic monarchy; they suffered slavery for many years before they got their Independence from the Great Britain. Jamaica has a mix culture Africans, British and Indians. The native Jamaica’s speaks Patois, pronounced pætwa consist of African dialect and broken English. The Jamaican dollar does express out of many one people, which means that our island has a multitude of people, which are from all walks of life. The Jamaican has a lot of artistry when it comes to craft, sculpture, pottery and Painting. These influences came from Africa and Europe. The people of Jamaica decided to adapt for the European and the African, to do thing by their hand in order to become self-sufficient The Jamaicans quickly mastered the art of weave basket, paint houses and sculpturing out of cedar wood. Their artistry is known as one of the greatest in the Caribbean and this talent is mastered around the island of Jamaica. The sculptures display the history and the culture of ingenious works of the natives. These art exhibits are showcased in local museum in Kingston, Jamaica and Montego Bay Jamaica.
