Inventions are made with the intention to help mankind with everyday situations, or just to make them easier. For years humans have been enjoying the help of inventions, but are oblivious to the damage it is doing to the environments we live in and also the planet Earth. Throughout time astute people dreamt of something that will help them see, help them get to a destination faster, or help them find an item faster. No matter what it was it helped or would help society become more advanced or even smarter. Some of these infamous inventions include the telephone, the printing press, the light bulb, the steam engine and finally the internet. Each one has helped society and the environment as much as it helped hinder it. The telephone was created to reach people from a further distance quicker. Since being invented we can communicate with each other from across the world and get things done much faster. It has been beneficial in many ways, such as calling 911 for help, or warning others. It is really upsetting to know a commendable invention has such atrocious consequences if over used, cell phone waves have been proven to damage DNA if not used properly and for an extended period each day. Not to mention the social impact of people staying home and texting rather than actually going outside and talking to people. According to thephonetown.com they assert Most of the accidents that happen daily arise because of mobile phones. Back in those times there wasn’t that much resources as now but even now we have plenty resources and factories and etc. still prefer to use the not so eco-friendly version. According to ehow.com “The chemicals required to break down the ingredients for paper production emit fumes. These fumes are toxic to workers in paper factories. According to a 1996 study published in "Allergy," some of these chemicals have caused chronic respiratory allergy symptoms that can lead to more severe respiratory issues later in life.” Other than providing light to see were you are going the light bulb helps you increase nighttime productivity helped spur industrial advancements. But according to a recent study by environmental lobbying groups they have labeled incandescent light bulbs as harmful not only because of the electricity they waste in producing heat, but also because of the substantial amounts of carbon dioxide they emit. In addition, the heat they generate pushes cooling systems like air conditioners to work harder, especially during summer. These cooling systems are dependent on coal power plants, which are known for the greenhouse gases they emit. The steam engine evidently had major consequences on European society. Positive and negative effects are apparent, as these major technological breakthroughs transformed European society. Even today, many aspects of society and economics are
