Inventions are made with the intention to help mankind with everyday situations, or just to make them easier. For years humans have been enjoying the help of inventions, but are oblivious to the damage it is doing to the environments we live in and also the planet Earth. Throughout time astute people dreamt of something that will help them see, help them get to a destination faster, or help them find an item faster. No matter what it was it helped or would help society become more advanced or even smarter. Some of these infamous inventions include the telephone, the printing press, the light bulb, the steam engine and finally the internet. Each one has helped society and the environment as much as it helped hinder it. The telephone was created to reach people from a further distance quicker. Since being invented we can communicate with each other from across the world and get things done much faster. It has been beneficial in many ways, such as calling 911 for help, or warning others. It is really upsetting to know a commendable invention has such atrocious consequences if over used, cell phone waves have been proven to damage DNA if not used properly and for an extended period each day. Not to mention the social impact of people staying home and texting rather than actually going outside and talking to people.
