1.Titled “Hispanic heritage runs deep in the USA” (USA Today, 10/12/2012) authors Jean-Benoit and Julie Barlow explain the influence Hispanic culture has in the United States and on why being Hispanic; illegal or not is below the point of this years political discussion. They suggest that the United States has always been a Hispanic nation due to the culture influence by their people. Traditions,names and costumes that have pass the test of time are part of today's United States and that is sometimes under mind.

2.The authors state that even though Hispanic people are paid attention too in this years political scheme, the importance of the article is to demonstrate the role and the influence Hispanics have played in the development of the United States. Which is longer than what most might assume. The authors suggest that Hispanic influence is represented in the name of some states part of the United States. States with Hispanic names are Texas, New Mexico, Utah, Florida, California, Nevada, Montana, and Arizona. (Hispanic heritage runs deep in the USA, pg 1, paragraph 4)
In addition they claim that Hispanic culture became part of the U.S when the country began to expand west of the Mississippi. Due to people relocating west, Hispanic territory became part of the United States. That is a reason on why the Hispanic personalty became in-tune with American culture.
The article also states that Hispanic culture is also demonstrated in American history. The reasoning use behind this in the article is proven by the knowledge of knowing that European explorers who settle in U.S territory first wrote in Spanish. The authors also backs their support by stating that the oldest European town, St Augustine, Florida was founded by Spaniards in 1564 before Jamestown.
They also defend their point by demonstrating the Hispanic influence that exist in the English language. Words such as tornado, mustang, lasso, chaps and shack are anglicized Spanish ranching terms.

3.The researchers use history to support there theory. They use the test of time to point out specific events that Hispanics where involve in. States with Hispanic names are pointed out. References with food, and language that is part of today's American culture are shown to be roots of Hispanic dictionary. In addition they make a connection between the dollar symbol and Hispanic symbols in American currency.

4.As a result the article proves that Hispanics have played a part in the development of the United States. That even though politics are beginning to notice the role of Hispanics, the role has always existed. Hispanic traces can be found through out American history.

5.People with little knowledge of this information might be lead to believe that there is a Hispanic movement for the first time being develop, but the author is trying to point out that Hispanic roots have been planted in the soil of the United States before this
