The Health and Safety Policy in regards to my clients and myself is to be aware of my surroundings when dealing with the students. If anything should happen, then I must report it to the senior level managers and record the incident. We are committed to make sure that all clients are made conscious of our Health and Safety Policy, Equal Opportunities Policy, Code of Conduct, Grievance and Disciplinary Procedures whilst they are enrolled with our centre. This is carried out in the induction process.

All Health and Safety issues which may affect me is reported to the centre manager or the manager/landlord of the building/site, e.g. trailing wires in the office, no heating or electricity, toilet issues i.e. over flooding toilets. All of these are recorded in a health and safety book which is visible for all staff to see and access

The main factors that might “get in the way” of the client feeling safe in the interview environment could trigger language barriers, due to the fact that the learners may not be able to communicate their point across affectively as they will need to me to understand what they and I am saying. I also other distractions such as noise could cause their communication to be ineffective and not understandable, thus not getting their message across. In terms of safety in an interviewing environment the main instances that may cause concern is threatening behaviour and insulting language

- I have felt a potential risk and personal safety issue while interviewing a client when I was conducting the interview on a 1 to 1 basis in a remote room, as the client did not want to talk in front of other people. He had explained to me that he had been in prison for over 20 years
