My name is Caitlin Davis. I am a senior at Henrietta Memorial King High School. My educational aspirations consist of acquiring a bachelor’s degree in biological or health science that would assist me in pursuing a medical career as a pediatrician. My career goal besides becoming a pediatrician is to open an affordable health care clinic or facility for families and individuals who cannot afford health insurance. In order to achieve these two future goals is to complete and obtain my college degrees. I believe I deserve to be selected for one of your foundation’s scholarships because as a hard working student I commit myself to effectively take advantage of the opportunity that the scholarship will provide me.
I not only work hard academically, but try to improve my community’s quality of life by doing volunteer work. I believe education is the key to success, and I try to connect my passion for education with my desire of helping others. As a result, I decided to become a volunteer at our local boys and girls club. I wanted to help these youth to achieve goals they may have in life or simply be friend and help them solve a problem. I know as a child I was always grateful that I could go to my mom and dad when I had a problem. I have always wanted to be a mentor, someone that these children could go too who doesn’t have the same privilege I did.
