"I feel the greatest destroyer of peace today is "Abortion", because it is a war against the child... A direct killing of the innocent child, "Murder" by the mother herself... And if we can accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion? As always, we must persuade her with love... And we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts... - Mother Teresa Abortion is morally inhumane. An abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. It can happen naturally, while the embryo is developing, which is more commonly known as a miscarriage, or spontaneous abortion. An induced abortion is when the woman decides that she does not want the baby and then has the fetus or embryo removed from her body either surgically or medically. In a medical abortion a woman can either take the drugs Methotrexate and Misoprostol, or the drug commonly known as RU-486 Mifepristone and Misoprostol. Methotrexate inhibits the growth of developing cells and Misoprostol contracts the uterus in order to force out the pregnancy. Everybody is different and so are their bodies so you don’t really know exactly how how after you take the pill will the baby abort, but for most they aborted the same day. The RU-486 Pill, or Mifepristone is a steroid hormone that causes the lining of the uterus to break down and then the woman begins to menstruate. If the medical abortion fails to work for any reason the woman has another option of surgical abortion. There are different methods of surgical abortion. Manual Aspiration usually done within the first 10 weeks of pregnancy, where the surgeon sucks the embryonic tissue out of the uteruswith the ais of a syringe. Vacuum Aspiration in which the surgeonnumbs and expands the cervix then puts a tube in the hole and vacuums out the uterus. For terminating a pregnancy during the second trimester the women would need to visit the clinic for two days to complete this procedure successfully. A sterile fiber would typically be put into the cervix to absorb the moisture in the body and expand it. When the cervix is expanded the procedure is finished by the use of a suction and forceps. Carter2 Morally killing a being that has a right to life is wrong, therefore, abortion is wrong. If a person is put in jail because of killing someone, a person should also be put in jail for aborting an unborn child. Nobody has the right to chose wheather or not a child should not get the chance at life like everybody else because that parent can not handle a baby at the moment. Only God has that power. If you are given a child then God planned it. Everything happens for a reason. Why deprive a unborn child of their future if you weren’t deprived yours? However, there are some rare situations where an abortion is nessessary. If at any reason having the baby may be harmful to the mother or child and the only choice is to abort the baby, then yes, you have to do what needs to be done. Also if you are a victim of rape and happened to get pregnant by the rapist, you may in fact need to abort that child rather then keep it and treat it unfairly and mistreat it because looking at him/her will always remind you of your incident, again it is nessessay. There is no reason to put anyone in that position of hurt and regret, its unfair to both you and the baby. There are many different reasons why you should not have an abortion or at least be very careful when getting one. The leading causes of abortion related deaths are hemorrhage, infection, embolism, anesthesia, and undiagnosed ectopic pregnancies. Legal abortion is reported as the fifth leading cause of maternal death in the United States. For women aborting a first pregnancy, the
