California’s decline in work benefits given to Employees To begin, I read an article on the decline of benefits offered in the workplace. It stated that California’s work benefits are becoming scarce. I think that it was well written, but I think it lacked some detail. Some content within the article wasn’t clear enough and I wasn’t sure what they meant. I feel that they should have elaborated on the political vocabulary. Not everyone knows what certain words mean. There was a nice chart that showed me how rapid the decline of workplace benefits has been within the last ten years. It also gave a lot of statistics and I like that. It gives me a clearer idea of how bad the issue is. The statics give me an accurate number to take into consideration when reading. The author asked different people their experiences and issues within their workplaces. I think that was a good idea to get an alternative perspectives. It showed that a lot of people are affected by it, even the humane societies. Other worldviews were not incorporated into this article. I do not think there was any assumptions made within the article I read. The article stated facts that were pretty clear on how bad it is effecting people in California. I do think that the emphasized how much benefits are given out at large companies. I noticed that they did not include much about smaller companies, they lime-lighted more of corporations and management positions. When making a critical evaluation it is important to
