Part 1: Strategies for Applying Creativity

How might you use the strategies for applying creativity to problems and issues when writing about this topic in your blog? (75-150 words)

I think if I was to keep a blog writing about the topic of ObamaCare, I would use the strategy of Devising or Modifying a Process or System. I would use this strategy to think of new ways that ObamaCare can be improved (whether or not if what I said would actually change it is another story). I would also use the strategy of Improving Things when I am writing about this topic on my blog. I would use this strategy to come up with ways that ObamaCare can be improved. The author of this particular article focused on all the negative effects of ObamaCare. I think it’s also important to include the pros of Obamacare such as tens and millions of those who are uninsured will be able to access affordable health insurance. I will also use the Third Stage of the creative process, Investigating the Problem or Issue to obtain the information necessary to deal effectively with the problem or issue (Ruggiero, 2012).

Part 2: Strategies for Stimulating Your Imagination and Promoting Curiosity

How might you use the strategies for stimulating your imagination to generate ideas about this topic when writing your blog? (75-150 words)

I would use the strategy of forcing uncommon responses to generate ideas about this topic when I am writing in my blog. I think this strategy will help me generate ideas because I am “forcing” myself to think of ways that ObamaCare can be improved or express why it is perfect the way it is now. Another strategy that will help me generate ideas is constructing pro and con arguments. When writing about a topic such as ObamaCare, I think it is needed to weigh both side of the arguments. After doing so, I will be able to relay to my audience both side of the arguments and show them why it’s good the way it is or why it needs to be changed. I think looking for unusual combinations may help me to generate ideas as well. Sometimes, the best solution to a problem will be to combine things not usually combined (Ruggiero, 2012). I think by doing this, I may be able to come up with ways on how ObamaCare can be improved.

Why do you think these strategies might be effective? (75-150 words)

I think these strategies may be effective because it forces me to think deeper on the issue. I think the common thought is either “ObamaCare is great” or “ObamaCare is horrible”, but the question is why? These strategies will help me answer that question so that I can provide more information for those who reads my blog so that they can decide for themselves where they stand on this matter. I think the strategy that will be the most effective is constructing pro and con arguments. I feel that this will be the most effective because anyone can see both side of the argument, not just one side. This will give the audience more information than just
