Lymphoma
I have chosen to do my English III research project over Lymphoma. Lymphoma is the study of Non-Hodgkin. Did you know that there are 5 different types/parts to Lymphoma? Such as: Mantle Cell Lymphoma, Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Lymphoma Survival Rate, and Lymphoma Symptoms in Children. Throughout my presentation you will notice that all parts of the cancer that they all have a common symptom. The main symptom will be swollen lymph nodes in the neck, underarms, groin, or other areas. Also in my research paper I plan on studying more about the blood cells such as B-cells and T-cells and how it is caused and where it starts from.
Mantle Cell Lymphoma is rare types of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) The Symptoms are all similar to the others. But Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma signs they includes one or more swelling in the neck, armpit, and also the causes are similar like the, Tiredness, Loss of more than one tenth of body weight. Mantle Cell Lymphoma stages and grades None Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is divided into two groups depending on the rate of growth and spreading within body, and their two growing’s are Low-grade and Slow-growing Lymphoma or high grader, fast growing lymphoma. Mantle cell lymphoma prognosis is considered to be slightly better than the T-cell. Lymphoma cancer survival rates, however, about 70% of people are diagnosed when the disease has progressed to stage IV. Which that means that the prognosis is very poor; the survival rate is about 3 to 4 years. Some people have shown a life expectancy of about 6 years.
Causes of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma have become fairly common and have been increasing in the United States since 1950’s. Although the causes of this cancer is unknown, they are likely to develop in people with compromised immune system the function of the immune is to defend the body by fighting against infections and other diseases. Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma is a cancer that begins in the cells of the immune system. Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (usually a B cell) becomes abnormal. Abnormal cells mean that it divides and makes copies of itself. Here are some of the cause/ symptoms if the cancer affects the thymus gland or lymph nodes in the chest. Symptoms include coughing or shortness of breath brought on by pressure the tumor places on the wind pipe or other airways. Now I’m going to tell you a little about some tests the first step in detection is usually a physical examination of the patient involving a thorough check up of body areas with lymph nodes. If it is swollen here are more tests: blood chemistry test, bone marrow aspiration, and biopsy. White blood cells different, the treatment of any cancer depends on the stage it is at when first diagnosed, and how rapidly it spreads. You can also get medication called rituximab (Rituxan) it’s often used to treat non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Rituxan is a form of immunotherapy, it targets a molecule on the surface of B-cells low-grade is a prognosis in lymphoma it progress slowly sometimes take over 10 years to a stage where they are detected.
Lymphoma Treatment is one of the major types of the most important parts of your body is your immune system and the lymphatic system fights away the infections and diseases, and it includes numerous thin vessels, which can spread throughout your body. These vessels also carry a colorless fluid called the lymph and this fluid contains lymphocytes which can also fight diseases. Some of the most important parts of the lymphatic system are the bone marrow, tonsils, thymus, and spleen. Whenever the cells of these parts grow abnormally, it causes lymphoma they divide in a haphazard manner due to which tumors are formed. The cancer cells can
