Sexuality and Dating Mr. Fitzpatrick

Below are 6 passages from the New Testament that help to form the basis of Christian belief in the virtue of chastity, which is sexual purity in one’s thoughts, words, and actions. Read each passage and describe how each relates to chastity. What words/phrases from each passage are key to your description?

Matthew 5: 27-30
27"(A)You have heard that it was said, '(B)YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY'; 28but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman (C)with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Mark 7: 17-23
17When he had left the crowd and entered (A)the house, (B)His disciples questioned Him about the parable. 18And He said to them, "Are you so lacking in understanding also? Do you not understand that whatever goes into the man from outside cannot defile him, 19because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and is eliminated?" (Thus He declared (C)all foods (D)clean.) 20And He was saying, "(E)That which proceeds out of the man, that is what defiles the man. 21"For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, 22deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, (F)envy, slander, pride and foolishness. 23"All these evil things proceed from within and defile the man."
1 Thessalonians 4:3

For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from fornication, that each one of you knows how to control your own body in holiness and honor.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20

Every sin that a person commits is outside the body, but the fornicator sins against the body itself. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you were bought with a price; therefore, glorify God in your body.
