The economic characteristics included using the government's resources to refurbish France’s economy and industrial, commercial, and agricultural expansion. The social characteristics include giving more rights and new reforms to his people after he became aware of the growing opposition to his previous reforms. The political characteristics include his image of republican government, but absolutist ruling, and his new abilities as chief of state. His foreign policies led to the unification of Germany because through the
Franco­Prussian war, he grew exhausted and lost to Prussia, making them one of the most powerful countries. Standard 2
