Team work has many advantage and disadvantages in the work place because it can help improve the quality of the service that is being provided to consumers. Where I currently work we have to work as a team to make sure that everything runs smoothly. We rent out office space to non-for-profit agencies, organizations and companies. We all have to make sure that we are on the same page but I personally feel that even though we have to work as a “team” we just do what we are told. It is states that one of the advantages of teams is that it increase the diversity of views but I feel that in my work place this is not true. (Bovee, C. & Thill, J. We always have monthly Staff Meeting to discuss any issues or concerns that employees might have. When we are in these meeting we address several issues such as the maintenance of the buildings, what is expected of employees, how to deal with issues when they occur in events etc. I have never given my opinion about any issues because I have heard story and have seen things that happen when you give your opinion. The main boss retaliates and she does it in a way that she can get away with it. It’s sad but is the truth and it’s a very hostile environment when she is around. Many people do have hidden agendas; I can speak from personal experience. I feel that where I work you have to watch your own back, there is only one person that helps you and that’s my director but there is only so much that she can do to assist
