Source Analysis Seaus hit back Deceased linebacker's family sues NFL, helmet company
The family of Junior Seau is suing the NFL helmet company. The suit's plaintiffs are listed as Gina Seau, Junior's ex-wife; his children Tyler, Sydney, Jake and Hunter, and Bette Hoffman, trustee of Seau's estate. Junior Seau played in the NFL for 20 years. Junior played linebacker which is a position where you take a lot of blows, especially helmet to helmet hits. So after 20 years of constant hits to the head there had to be a price to pay. Junior committed suicide and it was determined that he had developed CTE a brain disease which has the same symptoms as Alzheimer’s. The symptoms are dementia, memory loss, aggression, and depression, but can only be determined after death. The lawsuit accuses the league of glorifying pro football's violence while not paying much attention to player safety. The family is morning the loss of Junior and taking steps to make sure that this doesn’t happen again to any other player.
