OPERATION
VALKYRIE

This is Werner Von Haeften. One of the many conspirators during the plot to kill Adolf Hitler. He was one of the leaders in the German resistance against Hitler and ended up becoming Claus von
Stauffenberg’s right hand man. He was shot by a ten man firing squad, along with most of the other conspirators.

Claus von Stauffenberg was a
German army officer and aristocrat who was one of the leading members of the failed 20 July plot of
1944 to assassinate Adolf Hitler and remove the Nazi Party From power.
Along with Henning von Tresckow and Hans Oster, he was one of the central figures of the German Resistance movement within the Wehrmacht. For his involvement in the movement he was executed by firing squad shortly after the failed attempt known as Operation Valkyrie.

Friedrich Olbricht was a German general that plotted Hitler’s assassination. He strongly distrusted the Nazi party and distanced himself from the socialist movement. He was able to save many men by assigning them under military-political duty and they would be protected by the army.
He was Later executed by a firing squad alongside von Quirnheim, von Stauffenberg, and his aide Werner von Haeften

The Wolf’s Lair

Wolfsschanze) was Adolf Hitler's first Eastern
Front military headquarter in World
War II. Three security zones surrounded the central complex where the
Führer's bunker was located. Despite the security, an assassination attempt against Hitler was made at Wolf's Lair on 20 July 1944. They tried to use a hidden bomb to kill Hitler, However due to the reconstruction of the Führer Bunker in the summer of 1944, the location was changed to a building known as the Lager barrack on the day of the strategy meeting. This alternate venue along with several other factors, such as Hitler unexpectedly calling the meeting earlier than anticipated, meant Stauffenberg's attempt would prove unsuccessful.

(precursor of the NSDAP) in 1919, and became leader of the NSDAP in 1921. In 1923, he attempted a coup in
Munich to seize power. The failed coup resulted in
Hitler's imprisonment, during which time he wrote his memoir,
Mein Kampf

My Struggle
). After his release in 1924, Hitler gained popular support by attacking the Treaty of Versailles and promotin g Pan-Germanism, antisemitism, and anti-communism with charismatic oratory and Nazi propaganda. Hitler frequently denounced international capitalism and communism as being part of a Jewish conspiracy.

Werner Freiherr von Fritsch was a member of the German high command. He was the second German General to be killed during World War II. He believed the Nazi party would be a force for good at first. He was later accused of homosexual activity and was forced to resign on February 4th, 1938.

Hermann Henning Karl Robert von Tresckow was a
Generalmajor
in the German
Wehrmacht who organized
German resistance against
Adolf Hitler. He attempted to assassinate Hitler in March
1943 and drafted the Valkyrie plan for a coup against the German government. He was described by the Gestapo as the "prime mover" and the "evil spirit" behind the July 20 plot to assassinate Hitler. He committed suicide on the Eastern Front upon the plot's failure.
