What is heaven? The Greek word ouranious means pertaining to heaven, heavenly. Heaven is where
Christians go to be with God for eternity, but not everyone gets in. If Hell is complete separation from God then Heaven must be complete unity with God. Heaven is also complete unity with God. Who or what lives in heaven? In Matthew 18:10 Jesus tells the people that heaven is the dwelling place of angels and God Himself. Heaven is the best possible place to be. Matthew 7:21 states, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord', shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but those who do the will of My Father in heaven." Jesus is telling us that just because someone calls Him Lord does not guarantee them a place in heaven. I think that the major point Jesus wants to come across is that heaven is a place for those who do the will of His Father. Matthew 5:19 says, "Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." I think when Jesus said, "Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so,…", that He is trying to warn those who disobey His commandments and teaching the men false doctrine and are then known as hypocrites. The second thing that I think Jesus is trying to get across to the crowd He is preaching to is that we are supposed to do the commandments and teach others the commandments.Another thing that I think Jesus is trying to say is that while we hang around sinners in this world we ought to teach them commandments and try to do them ourselves. From all this I think heaven will be a place filled with teachers of God's word. Matthew 18:3 says, "and said, "Assuredly, I say to you unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven." I think in this verse Jesus wants to tell everyone listening that if you want to enter the kingdom of heaven you must be converted but also have to become as little children. when we hear little children pray about every sentence they say the three small words "thank you for". when praying to God, I think it is always better to start off thanking God for what He has done in our lives. If you think about, if you gave someone something to someone and they had been waning it for a very long time and when they get it finally they do not thank you for it or anything, but if it was me I would think that would be selfish. So with that example been said the main point from this verse is that if we want to be with God in heaven for eternity we must be converted and also be just like as little children would be praying to God and even worshipping God. What are some of the basics of heaven such
