The lights got brighter and the sirens got louder, I don’t remember anything that happened 3 hours after I left the restaurant. For some reason I was having flashbacks of the scent of burning rubber and the ear splitting sound of crumbling, crunching metal, it almost sounded as if a machine was compacting a car, and that’s exactly what was happening.
I woke up in a strange room with tubes and cords hooked up to me; the only noise I could hear was a faint beep in the background. I thought I was dead; I had no recollection of where I was, or what happened until i heard a young lady enter the strange room and ask me how i was feeling, She saw the confusion in my eyes and started to explain. She introduced herself as Allie Calhoun and she was a nurse at Glennfield Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina. She informed me that I got into a very bad car accident; my car got stuck in between two warning gates as a freight train was approaching, the train struck the back end of my car and flipped me off into a ditch. My car was split in two pieces that were tossed a few feet away from each other. She explained how my legs were caught in between a tree and the front end of my car. I was covered in blood, I was unconscious when the ambulance arrived, and the paramedics thought it was too late. My heartbeat dropped and was beating at six beats per minute. When I got to the hospital there was a slim chance I would live, and then I started breathing normally and my heart beat was almost back to normal
At this point I was hysterically crying and I kept forgetting what I was doing here. The nurse started to explain one more time, she started to explain slowly, as soon as she started my mother ran in, she took one look at her eighteen year old daughter and instantly started crying.
