Yes, we all know the planet earth is dying and we are helping the cause. The global mean teamperature is increasing at rapid pace, it been proved that global mean surface temperatures over the last 25 years have been higher than any comparable period since AD 1600, and probably since AD 900. This proves that the revolutionized Industrialization has brought harmful affect to our mother earth. 23
But with above seminar we are trying to derive methods of building computing technology, data centres and waste management techniques that have an environmentally sustainable and environmentally friendly role, lowered power consumption which in term reduces CO2 emissions etc. Implementation of these methods will help in effective and efficient use of energey and hence saving the wasted power for our next generation. 23
Research studies have helped in invension of virtulization and grid technology, adding to this, organizations have introduced innovative methods of recycling and waste disposal. Many organization have taken serious steps towards greener work environment and usage of ecofriendly techology. Centralized workstation management has helped in reducing the power consumption more than 50 percent. Government initiatives like Energy Star program and Electronic Waste Recycling Act has been implemented with strict measures reducing the harmful affect of hazardous chemicals and reduced power usage. 23

Introduction
The Rabbit in Alice in Wonder Land kept rushing and repeated “Oh dear I shall be late.” In all likelihood rabbit knew the truth. Planet Earth is dying and we are running late. The damage done is irreversible. Man- induced climate change has led to global warming, melting glacier, and extinction of species, depletion of natural resources and air, water and soil pollution. During past two decades, the use of information technology has tremendously increased, causing an increase in IT related power consumption and resulting in higher carbon emission.
The challenges have become clear: the need for clean water and air; affordable and reliable delivery of energy; the diminishing supply of fossil fuels; the reality of climate change and its implications for future generations. Organizations have a critical role to play to achieve sustainable development. It is clearly no longer possible for any organization to ignore the challenges and opportunities that arise from needing to achieve sustainable development.
Businesses often gain new operational efficiencies through green IT, including reducing capital costs, improving regulatory compliance and greening their marketable image with stakeholders, including investors, employees and the public at large, at a time when environmental problems are of utmost concern.
“Green IT” practices are drawing high interest among IT organizations as well as suppliers, manufacturers and service providers. With the rapid run up of energy costs and a broadening awareness of the impact of global climate change, IT organizations are looking for strategies to offset rising costs
